Our Vision

The vision of the Utah Women and Education Initiative is to enable more women in Utah, through obtaining postsecondary degrees and certificates, to 1) contribute to the local, social, and economic development of Utah, 2) realize their own potential for positive influence and contributions to the public and private good, and 3) positively influence and contribute effectively in personal/family, societal, and work contexts. The Initiative will provide support for Utah to become one of the most innovative and successful states in the union through harnessing the power of education for its residents, as well as to become a key facilitator in assisting the state to achieve its goal of having 66% of Utahns attain postsecondary degrees or certificates by the year 2020.

Our Mission

The mission of the Utah Women and Education Initiative is to be the catalyst for the implementation of the recommendations for the Governor’s Women’s College Task Force. It will serve as the “hub” to coordinate programs, services, networks, public relations, and efforts focused on moving more women in Utah toward attending college and obtaining degrees and certificates.
